Henry Moore's drawings on show in his Studio and Gardens, Hertfordshire
Henry Moore Studios and Gardens are currently displaying more than 150 of the artist’s works from the 1920s to the 1980s in his most substantial drawing exhibition for 40 years. Henry Moore Drawings: The Art of Seeing demonstrates the diverse selection of Moore’s approaches and ideas throughout his practice, which includes preparatory studies, prints, alongside studies of animals, people, and landscapes. Henry Moore (1898–1986) is remembered as a prolific sculptor, but he also produced almost 7,500 drawings throughout his career. By investigating Moore’s various approaches to illustration, this exhibition sheds light on how pivotal drawing was in Moore’s practice. The Art of Seeing is accompanied by a new, richly-illustrated book of the same title about Moore’s career in drawing.
The exhibition continues at the Henry Moore Studios and Gardens in Perry Green, Hertfordshire, until 27 October 2019. To buy tickets online, go to The Henry Moore Foundation.
